SPIRITUAL LAW IN THE NATURAL REALM

Prayer is the means of interaction between the human being and his God. It certainly implies the recognition of a great Power that made and sustains the universe, and with whom all things are possible. Far too many people have the idea that the residence of this Power is somewhere beyond the skies.

They believe this Power has to be properly pacified and implored, and if they can do that enough, the Power will then be in a sufficiently good humor to grant the request. If the request is not granted. It means that because the Power is not pleased, the prayer is not answered.

However we know that prayer never fails. That should be enough to challenge anyone whose experience has been to the contrary. If the statement is true – and it is – then something must be wrong with the individual whose experience is otherwise. Either his idea of Deity is wrong, or he is not praying correctly, or it can be both.

The first thing that metaphysics teaches us is the perpetual availability of God. The second thing it teaches is that each human being, whether or not he realizes it, is the child of God. God has individualized Himself in man, and He dwells in the heart of the person, waiting for the person to first believe it, then understand it, then experience it. And so, with that premise in mind, we direct our prayers in the following manner, and – our prayers are answered.

We begin our prayer with a simple statement of faith in the Presence of God and His power. We review briefly all we know about the attributes of God. We then ask and claim that which we know is our birthright – health, harmony and freedom – and then give thanks for receiving our specific need of the moment. We know that is not impressed with orations, so we keep our prayer simple, clear and concise, and packed with feeling. And most important of all – we believe it. That is the secret of answered prayer.
